One of my best friends has a brother who just lost his dog. I'm not certain of the details, but he was pretty old. If you're an animal lover like me, you know such a loss is just as relevant as losing any other member of your family. My friend Jeff commissioned me to paint a picture of Boomer for his brother. Naturally I did it for free. This is the result.

I went through photographs of Boomer and I knew immediately I wanted to recapture him in the prime of life - and I wanted to put him in a setting that was beautiful, magical and - well - fun for a dog to run around in.

Animals rule.

of course I didnt know Boomer but I'm sure you captured him very well, its an amazing picture and I bet its not much different to where he is now, running around chasing those fireflies and watching over his friends, missing them too!! ...its truly a great picture and I'm sure your best friend's brother will be honoured at this work of art!! ;P

What is it about love that makes us so stupid?

A thoughtful and kind comment - thank you (and for Boomer).

Wow, absolutely Stunning! You've captured the magical spirit of that creature, and have created such a captivating atmosphere, I love the tones, and feel all around! Was he a Ridgeback?

Let the beauty you love, be what you do :floating:
Actually I'm not certain - he had these very startling light-colored golden eyes that I tried to capture in the painting. I am not good at keeping track of the labels people put on things.

Thanks as always for your sweet comments xo :rose:
